Bath Housing is pleased to share that it has been selected to receive a 2023 John T. Gorman Foundation Direct Service Grant. The Direct Service Grants provide funding assistance to 83 nonprofits around the state. Grant recipients are generally involved in serving communities across the state with housing, health care, food and other essential services.
“Basic access to food, housing, and other essentials continues to be a pressing concern for too many Maine people,” said Lauralee Raymond, John T. Gorman Foundation Manager, Special Initiatives. “Through this year’s Direct Service Grant Program, the John T. Gorman Foundation is privileged to be able to strengthen the efforts of organizations across the state to address these critical needs in their communities.”
This year, the Foundation awarded more than half of its Direct Service Grants to organizations focused on food insecurity and housing. Additional grants went to fund initiatives that provide health care, legal aid, language assistance, transportation, financial support, and other services.
Bath Housing’s grant of $15,000 is for the support of general operations. “We thank the John T. Gorman Foundation for the commitment to housing stability and food security. We are honored to receive this award alongside the other organizations assisting communities across Maine in so many profound ways. We are in very special company,” said Executive Director Debora Keller.
