Bath Housing Development Corporation (Bath Housing) has partnered with Renewables Worldwide and Berwick Solar, LLC, to take advantage of Maine’s 2019 Net-Energy Billing legislation. Also referred to as community solar, this effort will save Bath Housing an estimated $15,000 a year on annual electric costs charged by Central Maine Power (CMP) and nearly $350,000 over the life its 20-year agreement.
Community solar allows Bath Housing to obtain these savings on its electric supply, transmission, and delivery costs without installing a single solar panel on its properties or having to manage its own solar array. These community solar subscription agreements not only allow Mainers and their businesses to reduce annual expenses, but also to do so while creating local jobs and supporting Maine’s implementation of local renewable energy power-plants.
