COVID-19 Resident Update April 23, 2020

This week, we want to celebrate some Good Stuff!

  • We are hearing appreciation for the laundry quarters (courtesy of the Quarter Fairy)
  • We are also hearing appreciation for Seacliff resident L (you know who you are!) whose neighbors are grateful for the huge positive difference that she has been making with her willingness to pick up and deliver items for many of the residents
  • Special thanks to the Bath Sunrise Rotary Club has generously contributed part of the funding for the Quarter Fairy and the stamp supplies!
  • Yeah for new partnerships!  We have begun partnering with Cooking for Community, based in Portland. They are connecting local food sources and restaurant staff who are struggling as a result of COVID-19 and individuals who need delicious food.  They hope to provide essential nourishment to everyone in that chain, and we are working with them to provide periodic deliveries of homemade soup.  Let us know how Monday’s batch was!

One Call Now

  • Lots of things are being announced via OneCall right now, including the recent soup delivery, all of the surprise lunch deliveries and the arrival of notices and your COVID-19 Preparedness Folders with masks and other goodies. We know and apologize that OneCall is not a perfect system.  The system does not allow us to make modifications to call volume, call pick-up or to sync the calls with captioned telephones.  If OneCall does not work for you, perhaps you could ask a neighbor to pass the information along?  If you would like to start receiving the calls, contact Sarah at 443-3116.

  • Important reminders about upcoming Food Bank deliveries:
    • We expect a Food Bank delivery next week. Don’t hesitate to reach out to Kristen (295-3317) if you would like to discuss other food options before then.  If you received a blue form from the Food Bank and have not submitted it before Tuesday, you will no longer receive Food Bank deliveries, as the Food Bank requires this paperwork in order to provide food.  This is only a concern if you received a blue form in your bag.  If you received a form and submitted it or did not receive a form at all, you are all set.
    • The timing of Food Bank bags depends on when they receive their deliveries. They expect that the bags provided next week will include approximately a 3-week supply of food.

  • Carolyn from Dogwill will be making pet food and supply deliveries this Friday, April 24:
    • Supplies will be delivered to the Moorings Resource Table and Anchorage apartments around 11am
    • Supplies will be delivered to Dikes Landing and Seacliff around 1pm
    • As always, these are estimated times, not exact times, for the deliveries.  Please continue to double check the apartment number on the bags to be sure that you have the right bag.  If you have an empty cat litter tote from Dogwill, please leave that out for pick-up on Friday as well.

  • Help give Maine a boost! Maine is currently ranking 48th in U.S. Census response rates and we can all do our part to improve this.  Check your household invitation for options to respond online, by phone or by mail.  You can also visit 2020census.gov for more information on this safe, easy and important process.  Every community will be especially in need of the funding and representation informed by these census counts and we can all take action to be sure that everyone is counted.  Since coloring can also be a relaxing activity, a Census coloring page is included with this notice.
