Bath Housing Executive Director Debora Keller received the 2016 Stephen B. Mooers Award from Maine Housing. John Gallagher, Executive Director of MaineHousing, presented the award to Keller at the recent Maine Affordable Housing Coalition conference. The award recognizes the contributions of individuals in the housing field who exemplify a lifelong commitment to assist Maine people in obtaining and maintaining quality affordable housing and services.
In her three years as Executive Director, Debora has recommitted the organization to serving the community. In response to needs identified in a comprehensive housing assessment, Bath Housing launch the Community Aging in Place (CAP) Program – a new, simple home modification program. The goal of the program is to demonstrate that small investments in home safety can extend the time seniors can stay safely in their own home while improving health outcomes. Bath Housing is now partnering with MaineHousing to bring the program to four other housing authorities in Maine.
Bath Housing owns and manages affordable housing properties locally serving 166 families. The organization also administers the housing choice voucher program.
